Quality of higher education in the Arab countries under Covid-19
The Director of the National Center for Quality Assurance highlights the role of the Ministry of Education in Distance Learning during his meeting with the Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education

The director of the center also explained to the Libyan experience of distance learning, and the success of designing the educational platform ( Learning ) For e-learning developed by the Ministry of Education, as well as the experience of the University of Sabha that was before the emergence of the new Corona virus since the year 2016, but it has a specificity in the geographical area covered in the Faculties of Pharmacy and Human Medicine, a successful experiment, especially the discussion of more than twenty scientific theses to obtain certificates The Supreme Council, as "Al-Atooq" noted during his intervention that the Ministry of Education held many scientific conferences and symposia via closed circuits via the International Information Network (the Internet), noting that the Libyan Ministry of Education has taken it upon itself since the outbreak of the Corona epidemic, studying all the experiences that would be met Corona epidemic emerging "Covid 19" came calls (distance learning) to sweep the barriers of space and time.
During the meeting, the experiences of some Arab countries, including the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, were presented.
Where the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on higher education in the Arab state was discussed, the experiences of quality assurance bodies in the participating countries, the challenges faced and the opportunities associated with the crisis and future aspirations.
This is a delegation opened by the President of the Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education Dr. “Nadia Badrawi” with a welcome speech to the guests and a briefing on the history of the network’s establishment and its most prominent roles in the field of quality assurance in the Arab countries. In the Kingdom of Bahrain, the first session of the forum, where she presented the authority’s efforts to evaluate the practices of distance education during the pandemic and presented the most important good practices that were monitored by higher education institutions and the most important recommendations reached by the authority to develop distance education.
Dr. Muhammad Othman, head of the Higher Education Accreditation Authority in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, discussed in his presentation the importance of integration between infrastructure and elements of education and learning in higher education institutions and decisions issued by the Higher Education Council regarding distance education, while Dr. Suhail Bajammal presented the CEO The National Center for Academic Calendar and Accreditation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has the role of the Education and Training Evaluation Authority in supporting higher education institutions during the pandemic and the challenges of the current situation and the internal efforts of the authority to manage the work.
