Centre Director Role and Responsibilities
The Centre Director is appointed by the University President from among Libyan faculty members for a renewable four-year term. The Director holds an administrative and financial rank equivalent to University Deans, as stipulated by relevant policies and regulations.
As the executive leader of the Centre, the Director is charged with managing all Centre operations, setting policies, and ensuring the execution of decisions made by the Board of Directors. Key responsibilities include:

Selecting Board members—faculty and consultants—based on expertise to ensure strong governance.

Overseeing the Centre’s administrative and research functions in line with legal frameworks and institutional regulations.

Leading the organisation of scientific training sessions, conferences, and related activities that advance the Centre’s mission.

Acting as the official representative of the University and Centre in collaborations with partner institutions.

Maintaining active engagement with civil society to strengthen community ties.

Supervising departments and units under the Centre’s jurisdiction to ensure efficient operation.

Managing financial oversight, including the preparation of final accounts and recommending staff compensation packages.

Delivering regular progress reports to the Board and approving necessary expenditures.

Undertaking additional duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
