About the center

The Information and Documentation Office at Sebha University was established in the year 2000 AD, which aims to provide all data, statistical information and documents, processing and analysis. And after referring to the previous decision of the General People's Committee (Prime Minister) No. (772) for the year 1989 AD, to establish sectoral centers for information and documentation, and based on a decision by Mr. President of Sabha University for the year 2010AD, it became a center instead of an office, to become the information and documentation center at the university, which aims to Building, managing and developing an integrated information system for information that provides the necessary support for drawing policies and making successful decisions through which we can contribute to raising and improving the level of efficiency and effectiveness in all scientific and service fields in the university.

Vision

Building a scientific and technical database to ensure the regularity and circulation of information that meets the needs of all beneficiaries, whether they are researchers or decision makers, in order to raise and improve the level of efficiency and effectiveness in all scientific and service fields in the university.

Message

As the center is one of its core competencies, creating a comprehensive and integrated information system in the university, by providing information, statistics and data related to education and facilitating the flow of information to officials and those interested in education within and outside the university. The center is also concerned with building and developing databases of information, statistics and data that contain everything related to the university, promoting integration between them and linking them automatically to information sources in Libya.

Objectives

  • Keeping information, data and documents in accordance with technical methods and means and making them accessible to public and private agencies.
  • Review and process the information approved by the competent authorities to provide the competent authorities with accurate, high-quality data.
  • Organizing and following up the goals of the educational system for information and documentation, coordinating work with various departments, offices and centers, supervising the implementation of the educational system for information, and following up on what is issued of evidence, instructions and procedures.
  • Organizing information and data inside and outside the university and connecting them within the framework of the national information network.
  • University documents and publications to facilitate the process of preservation and retrieval and to reduce the use and loss of paper.
  • Refine scientific societies, specialists and amateurs with data.
  • Preparing an information guide at the university.

Prepare The Information and Documentation Center is one of the pillars of Sabha University because of its prominent role in taking the steps and procedures that must be taken in order to achieve the desired goals and work continues according to it in high consistency and efficiency. In order to build a scientific and technical database that ensures the regularity and circulation of information that meets the needs of the center and achieves the basic goals, which is to build, manage and develop an integrated information system for information that provides the necessary support for drawing policies and making successful decisions through which we can contribute to raising and improving the level of efficiency and effectiveness in all scientific fields And SOA.

The Information and Documentation Center also has an administrative structure at the following level:

  • Administrative and Financial Affairs Department

Organizing work progress inside the center and following up procedures inside and outside the center

  • Department of Information and Statistics

Collect data and information from the competent authorities within the university and prepare statistics that provide beneficiaries with the information they need.

  • Processing and auditing

Examining and verifying the data and information obtained, preparing methods of processing it, and preparing a report for the competent authorities to update the data accordingly.

Specializes in the following

  1. Participate in proposing plans to meet the needs of the community with different specializations according to its orientations
  2. Keeping and documenting information and statistics in an organized manner ensuring easy access to them when they are needed.
  3. Collecting information and data related to all activities of the university and its affairs, and preparing the necessary statistics on it.
  4. Preparing brochures and flyers related to the activities and guides of the university.
  5. Providing the competent authorities, the university, and others with the various data and statistics you need about students, faculty members, projects, equipment, and others.
