]]> A delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Government of National Unity extends their condolences for the deceased of the university and higher education (Dr. Mohamed Rahim Omar), the former vice president for academic affairs at the university.

The acting President of Sebha University, the Secretary-General, the Director of the Research and Consultation Center, and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the university received the ministerial delegation this Wednesday morning, the 1st of May 2024. They welcomed the ministerial delegation led by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Government of National Unity, Dr. Imran Mohamed Al-Gaib, to offer condolences for the deceased, the late Dr. Mohamed Rahim Omar, the former vice president for academic affairs at the university.

The ministerial delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research consisted of the Chair of the Advisory Committee and the Director of the National Program for Enhancing the International Competitiveness of Libyan Universities at the ministry.

The delegation offered their deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family of the late Dr. Mohamed Rahim Omar. On the other hand, the relatives and loved ones of the deceased expressed great appreciation for this noble humanitarian gesture from the ministry, praying for the deceased of the university and higher education in Libya to be granted acceptance, mercy, forgiveness, and satisfaction.

]]> Scientific research conducted in 2023 has been recently published by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Omar and his colleagues, who are associate professors at the Department of Chemistry at Sabha University.

The work addresses a comprehensive study on synthesis and application of a Ce-doped calcium ferrite (Ce-doped CaFe2O4) as a multifunctional material with desirable properties, i.e., biocompatibility, nontoxicity, cost-effectiveness and eco-friendliness. The magnetic Ce-doped calcium ferrite nanoparticles with various chemical composition CaFe2−xCexO4 (x = 0.10, 0.075, 0.050, and 0.025) were fabricated via a sol–gel procedure. After attentive characterization of the nanoparticles, they were exploited for both adsorptive removal of a model cationic dye (Malachite green; MG) and their antibacterial activity against waterborne Gram-negative pathogens.
