Sebha University Documentation Information Center:

The Information and Documentation Center is one of the pillars of Sebha University because of its prominent role in taking the steps and measures that must be taken in order to achieve the desired Goals and work accordingly continues in high consistency and Efficiency.

The Information and Documentation Office at Sebha University was established in 2000, which aims to provide all data, statistical information and documents, and process and analyze them. And after referring to the decision of the former General People’s Committee (Presidency of Ministers) No. (772) for the year 1989, to establish Sectoral Centers for information and Documentation, And based on a Decision by the President of Sebha University for the year 2010 , it became a center instead of an office, to become the information and documentation center at the University, which aims to build, manage and develop an integrated Information system for information that provides the necessary support for drawing up successful policies and Decision-Making through which we can contribute to raising and improving the level of Efficiency And Effectiveness in all Scientific and Service fields of the University.

First: the vision:

Building a Scientific and technical Database that ensures the regularity and Circulation of Information that meets the needs of all beneficiaries, whether they are researchers or decision-makers, in order to raise and improve the level of efficiency and Effectiveness in all scientific and service fields at the University.

Second: The Message:

The Information and Documentation Center is one of the pillars of Sebha University because of its prominent role in taking the steps and actions that must be taken in order to achieve the desired goals and work continues according to it in high consistency and Efficiency, as the center provides Information, statistics and data related to Education and facilitates the flow of information to officials and those interested in Education Inside and outside the University. The Center is also concerned with building and developing databases of information, statistics and data that contain everything related to the University and promoting Integration between them and linking them automatically to Information sources in Libya.

Third: The Goals

Storing Information, Data and Documents in accordance with technical methods and making them accessible to Public and Private Entities.
Reviewing and Processing Information Approved by the competent Authorities to provide the competent Authorities with accurate data of high Quality.
Organizing and following up the Goals of the Educational System for Information and Documentation, coordinating work with the various departments, offices and Centers, supervising the implementation of the educational system for Information and following up on the evidence, Instructions and procedures issued.
Organizing information and Data Inside and Outside the University and linking them within the Framework of the National Information Network.
Implementing the Electronic Archiving System for University Documents and publications to facilitate the process of saving and Retrieval and Reducing the use and Loss of Paper.
Refine the Scientific Communities, professionals and Interested with Data.
Preparing a Guide for University Information.

The Center Specializes in the following:

Participate in proposing plans to meet the needs of the community in various disciplines, according to its orientations.
Storing and Documenting Information and Statistics in an organized manner to ensure easy Access to them when needed.
Collecting Information and data related to all University activities and Affairs, and preparing the necessary Statistics about them.
Preparing brochures and Pamphlets related to the University’s Activities and Guides.
Providing the competent authorities, the University, and others with the various data and Statistics they need about students, faculty members, projects, devices, and others.

And since the Center is at the heart of its competence to create a Comprehensive and integrated Information system in the university, by providing Information, Statistics and Data related to Education and facilitating the flow of Information to officials and those interested in education inside and outside the University. The Center is also concerned with building and developing Databases of information, Statistics and data that contain everything related to the University and promoting integration between them and linking them automatically to Information Sources in Libya.

Department of Administrative Affairs

Organizing the Workflow inside the Center and following up the procedures inside and outside the Center.

Department of Information and Statistics

Collecting Data and information from the competent authorities within the University and preparing statistics that provide the beneficiaries with the Information they need.

Processing and Auditing Department

Examining and Auditing the Data and Information obtained, preparing Methods for processing it, and preparing a Report for the competent Authorities to update the Data accordingly.
