About the University<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The cornerstone of Sebha University was the Faculty of the Education, Sebha Branch, which was established in 1976 and affiliated with the University of Tripoli (formerly Al-Fateh University).<\/p>\n

In early 1983, the former General People’s Committee issued Resolution No (187\/1983) regarding the establishment of Sebha University, making it an independent university to serve and meet the needs of the Southern municipalities of Libya.<\/p>\n

The university has a proud history, beginning with the establishment of the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Science. Since then, it has expanded to include a diverse range of faculties, including but not limited to Human Medicine, Agriculture, Engineering, Information Technology, and Economics and Accounting. With twenty-two faculties situated in the southern regions and seven specialized research centres, the university is well-equipped to provide a comprehensive education and drive innovative research.<\/p>\n

In 2020, institutional accreditation was granted to the University by the National Centre for Quality Assurance and accreditation of educational and training institutions. The centre is one of the significant pillars of the Ministry of Higher Education for reform and development Education in Libya; it is responsible for promoting a culture of quality; developing and implementing local quality standards in accordance with international standards.<\/p>\n
