Intellectual Property and Innovation Office at Sebha University<\/h2>\n

Based on Sebha University’s vision of “leadership in education, scientific research, and community service,” which revolves around supporting scientific research, innovation, and invention through the university’s strategic plan for 2018-2023 and the research plan of the Research and Consultations Center from 2019 to 2023, as well as the Sebha University Award for Outstanding Research to encourage a culture of high-impact scientific research, and through the scientific and research development at the university, it has been decided to establish the Intellectual Property, Innovation, and Patents Office.<\/p>\n

Intellectual property rights are exclusive rights, and depending on the applying entity, they can be permanent or temporary, aimed at protecting intellectual creations.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column][vc_column min_height=”” bg_type=”” dima_canvas_style=”” translate_x=”0″ dima_z_index=”0″ delay=”” delay_duration=”” delay_offset=”” top_and_bottom_padding=”” left_and_right_padding=”” width=”1\/3″]

Categories of Intellectual Property:<\/h3>\n

There are two categories of intellectual property: industrial property rights and literary and artistic property rights, i.e., copyright.<\/p>\n

    Roles of the Office of Intellectual Property and Innovation :<\/h3>\n

    1. Promoting a culture of intellectual property, innovation, and inventions in the university community.<\/li>\n
    2. Providing technical and technological consultations in the field of intellectual property, innovations, and inventions.<\/li>\n
    3. Organizing courses, seminars, and technical consultations related to intellectual property, innovation, and patents in coordination with the university’s Training and Development Center.<\/li>\n
    4. Assisting in registering research for patents with relevant local and international authorities.<\/li>\n
    5. Establishing a database of research at the university and the possibility of patent registration.<\/li>\n
    6. Studying and evaluating creative ideas from university staff.<\/li>\n
    7. Providing consultancy and technical services to faculty members and researchers regarding patenting and assisting them in registering their inventions locally and internationally.<\/li>\n
    8. Organizing workshops related to intellectual property, innovation, and patents.<\/li>\n
    9. Undertaking administrative and organizational procedures for registering intellectual property rights with specialized authorities and assisting innovators in obtaining patents.<\/li>\n
    10. Participating in conferences, seminars, and training courses in the field of patents.<\/li>\n
    11. Assisting in marketing the product and reaching investors.<\/li>\n
    12. Preparing regular and annual reports for the office manager.<\/li>\n
    13. Performing any other tasks assigned by the office manager.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
