Praise be to Allah, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah and his family and companions and peace And after: Welcome, dear visitor, to the website of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technical Sciences - Sebha University
The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is one of the important departments in the college. The department includes a group of important specializations that came to meet the requirements of the labor market in the need for human resources specializing in the field of communications engineering, computer and electrical science. Since its establishment in 1989, the Department of Electrical Engineering has taken the lead role in graduating a group of distinguished engineers who are able to contribute effectively to the design, development and maintenance of various areas of electrical and electronic engineering such as communications and computer systems, power and energy systems, control systems, and electronic systems. This was one of the main goals of the department and also for the department’s distinguished academic role through the expertise of faculty members, graduates of the best international universities from different countries of the world and their scientific competence. In the field of electrical and electronic engineering, on the one hand, and on the other hand, to meet the needs of the labor market. The department not only provides programs to obtain a bachelor's degree, but the department also offers a program for a master’s degree in electronic engineering.

About the section

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering was established in the spring semester of 1989, that is, one year after the establishment of the college, where it aims to meet the country's need for qualified technical cadres, which are of the utmost importance in strengthening the infrastructure of any developed society that seeks to employ contemporary technology, and use it In economic, social and scientific development, the department has contributed to the graduation of many field and research engineers in various branches of electronic engineering, and this section contains the following academic people:

  1. Communication Engineering Division.
  2. Computer Engineering Division.
  3. Electrical Power Division
  4. Computer engineering and information security

Specialization takes place in one of the people at the beginning of the seventh semester of the study, and for the student to be accepted from the general department in the electronic engineering department, a mathematics subject 1 + 2 and a physics course 1 + 2 must be passed with a grade of no less than good. The student's cumulative.

In spite of the difficulties faced by the Department of Electronic Engineering in its beginning in obtaining qualified professors, but after the return of many delegates to study, the department was able to solve most of the deficiency in the teaching of the curricula where the educational staff became 100% of the Libyans with a master's and doctoral degree and these professors in addition to work Teaching supervising graduation projects, conducting research, providing consultations, and participating effectively in internal and external scientific conferences and seminars. The department also includes a number of teaching assistants and technicians, who supervise laboratories, maintain devices, and assist in teaching and examinations work.

During the period from 1989 to 2019 CE, the Department of Electronic Engineering was able to achieve great success in graduating a large number of engineers in the field of communications and computer engineering, many of whom were directly involved in working life, but that many of them entered into honest competition in international institutions and companies to obtain jobs where most of them were able Excellence in it, and that many of them who were prepared to be members of teaching staff in universities were able to obtain a higher degree at home and abroad and from universities that attest to their competence.
