Policies on Conflict of Interest

1. Conflicts of interest:

This could be occurred when outside issues affect the neutrality or objectivity of research, which can happen at any stage in the research processes. Our Sebha University Journals’ policy for the conflicts of interest do prevent someone from being involved in the review process and it must be declared to the Editor before any action taken place. This should be before the article published, but if the conflicts of interest were reported by someone to Editor after publication, this will be embarrassing for the authors, the Editor, the journal and the publisher. 

The common conflicts:

Authors should carefully aware about the following:

  • Personal conflict:  the relationship exists.
  • Financial conflict: payment received based on the subject of the research.
  • Intellectual property conflict: on patents or trademarks owned the research.
  • Affiliation conflict: organization with an interest in the outcome of the research.
  • Ideology conflict: influenced by beliefs relating to the subject of the research.

The conflicts Authors, Editors and Reviewers:

For Authors

Conflicts for authors could be seen to have influenced your decision-making process, you should be declared at the time of submission whether or not you believe a conflict of interest exists.

Editors

Our Sebha University Editorial Board have to be very aware of the risk of conflicts. You should be declared at the time of submission whether or not you believe a conflict of interest exists. In order to avoid that, you have to write a letter to Editor to declare any conflicts and refuse to handle the manuscript if you are one of:

  • works at the same institution even in the past
  • Coauthored a paper with the author
  • Collaboration with the author

For Reviewers:

Sebha University journals’ policy is providing essential neutral assessment for reviewers by agreeing to peer review a manuscript and reviewers have to ensure no conflicts of interest could be reported.

Conflict of interest statement
It is the laws of Sebha University Journals that all authors applying for publication with an article to the magazine are expected by letter of introduction to the article, explaining any commercial affiliations, consulting, shares or property rights, or any licensing arrangements such as patents that can in one way or another be considered a conflict of interest With regard to the article submitted for publication. Potential conflicting interests, such as relationships, financial or otherwise, that relate to the author's objectivity include the presentation of the study results and the results presented. Details of the editor's conflict of interest will remain confidential.
The authors should act as a public statement and clear statement in the section of thanks and appreciation between:
- Conflicts of interest related to the study
Mentioning the sources of financing for the project, institutions and companies
Either in the case of a commercial product, the name of the manufacturer must be indicated in the Materials and Roads Division or elsewhere in the article.
