About the Lake

Lake Qabr Awn is a stunning saltwater oasis located in the Idehan Ubari desert region of the Libyan Sahara. Surrounded by massive sand dunes and palm trees, it is famous for its high salinity, which allows swimmers to float effortlessly on the surface.

Geographic Location

Situated in the Wadi al Hayaa District, approximately 100km from Sebha. It is part of the desert oasis system in southern Libya, which has been a tourist attraction and population center for centuries.
