These developments are the result of the dedicated and tireless efforts of a young, committed team from the Centre and the University, who have worked diligently to bring the Centre to its current level of excellence.
About the Centre and Its Services
The Language Centre at Sebha University was established by Decision No. 23 issued in 2008 by the former General People’s Committee for Education and Scientific Research. The Centre reports directly to the University Council and provides services to students aimed at enhancing their skills and capabilities in various living languages, facilitating cultural communication and knowledge exchange with countries worldwide.
The Centre places great emphasis on training and qualifying postgraduate students across the University’s faculties through intensive language courses designed to equip them with new skills and strengthen their linguistic competencies, thus fulfilling the objectives of both the Centre and the University. A key priority is implementing the University’s policy of promoting the Arabic language, the language of the Quran, by offering training courses for both native and non-native speakers.
The Centre has earned a strong reputation in the field of language education, thanks to the scientific and academic competence of its academic staff.
Among the important services provided to the University and the community is the Translation, Arabization, and Consultation Office, which translates, edits, and proofreads the University’s correspondence with external bodies.
We at the Centre are always ready to offer assistance in language education for academic purposes or personal needs.
