Tasks of the Office of Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation:
- Follow up and implement general policies to evaluate performance and ensure quality in all administrative and academic units of the university, and ensure that all members of those units understand the objectives of this policy, are convinced of it, and are enthusiastic about it.
- Reviewing and updating the university’s strategy, mission, and basic objectives in light of developments and updates; to develop and update the educational process.
- Assisting university colleges in activating and supervising their quality assurance departments, advising them to conduct self-evaluation studies, and preparing and equipping them to apply for institutional and program accreditation.
- Establishing mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the activities of the university, its centers, departments, offices, colleges, departments, and various academic and administrative programs. This is achieved by monitoring and following up on shortcomings in the colleges separately, and in the centers, departments, and offices, and preparing and submitting reports to the University Council that include the office’s observations, plans, and proposals for development and addressing shortcomings.
- Conducting field visits to the university’s centers, departments, offices, and colleges to ensure quality assurance.
- Compiling and analyzing the results of internal audit committees, highlighting the negatives and positives, and submitting proposals for improving the performance of various colleges or departments as a fundamental step in applying for institutional and programmatic accreditation.
- Participate in updating the university’s vision and mission.
- Participate in preparing and updating the strategic plans of the university and the centers, departments, offices and colleges affiliated with the university.
- Creating a database of programs and degrees awarded by the university, and to all centers, departments and offices at the university, in order to follow up on the development of the educational process.
- Disseminating information related to quality assurance and accreditation mechanisms, to raise awareness among faculty members, all university staff, and students of the importance of implementing a quality assurance system.
- Communicate with corresponding offices in other Libyan universities and academies to benefit from and exchange experiences with them.
- Communicate and coordinate directly with the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center for educational and training institutions to follow up on various types of evaluation and accreditation processes.
- Referring reports to the university president, including the pros and cons resulting from internal and external auditing.
- Proposing standards related to the quality of university education, submitting them for accreditation and monitoring them.
- Proposing performance evaluation and quality control standards for university education components related to the university professor, curricula, laboratories, university buildings, and university departments, centers, and offices.
- Supervising the exchange of information with specialized regional and international bodies, comparing the standards applied by their universities and colleges with those applied by the university or its affiliated colleges, and working to develop them.
- Proposing the establishment of work procedures, rules and guidelines to develop performance and ensure the quality of education at the university.
- Conducting studies to bring university education outcomes closer to labor market needs and making recommendations in this regard.
- Preparing periodic and annual follow-up reports on the office’s activities.
Office manager duties:
- Chairing meetings of heads of quality departments in colleges, departments and centers at the university.
- Organizing work within the office.
- Technical supervision of directors of quality offices in colleges, departments and centers at the university.
- Participate in preparing plans related to the office’s activities.
- Participation in the work of committees related to the nature of the office’s work.
- Participation in workshops, conferences and seminars related to the nature of the office’s work, at home and abroad.
- Preparing periodic and annual reports on the office’s activities.Any other work assigned by the university president.
Tasks of the Institutional Accreditation Department:
- Spreading the culture of institutional academic accreditation at the university.
- Providing technical support to meet institutional accreditation requirements.
- Qualifying university units for institutional academic accreditation.
- Preparing periodic reports on the progress of institutional accreditation work at the university.
- Follow up on the preparation of the academic institutional self-evaluation study.
- Technical review of colleges, administration and support offices.
- Follow up on the documentation of the university’s institutional accreditation work.
Tasks of the Program Accreditation Department:
- Spreading the culture of academic accreditation for academic programs at the university.
- Providing technical support to meet software accreditation requirements.
- Qualifying academic programs nominated for academic accreditation.
- Preparing periodic reports on the progress of program accreditation work at the university.
- Follow up on the preparation of self-evaluation studies for academic programs.
- Technical review of academic programs nominated for academic accreditation.
- Follow up on documenting program accreditation work in university colleges.
Tasks of the Quality Assurance Department:
- Follow up and review the quality of descriptions and reports of academic courses and programs.
- Spreading the culture of quality and providing the necessary advice and technical support to various entities in the field of
- planning and quality assurance.
- Periodic review of academic programs.
- Contribute to ensuring the quality of academic programs at the university.
- Follow up on documenting quality assurance work in university colleges.
Tasks of the Evaluation and Measurement Department:
- Providing technical support and scientific consultations in the field of measurement and evaluation.
- Preparing and developing measurement and evaluation tools that contribute to achieving justice and raising the efficiency of educational outcomes.
- Follow up and review the quality of performance indicator measurement results at the university level.
- Follow up and review the quality of the results of measuring educational output indicators for the university’s academic programs.
- Follow up on the procedures of the University President’s Award for Quality and Excellence.
- Conducting and publishing scientific research in the field of measurement and evaluation.
- Preparing the required data and statistics in the field of quality and academic accreditation.
- Preparing final reports on performance indicators at the institutional and programmatic levels at the university.
- Proposing development recommendations in light of the results of reports and research in the field of quality and academic accreditation.
- Study the results of the annual reports on the performance of the Deanship’s units and propose appropriate development recommendations.
Planning Department tasks:
- Supervising the preparation of the office’s operational plan and following up on its implementation.
- Follow up on the implementation of development and improvement plans in colleges and academic programs.
- Reviewing periodic follow-up reports on improvement and quality plans in colleges and academic programs.
- Preparing the annual report on the office’s executive plan.
- Spreading the culture of quality and providing the necessary advice and technical support to various parties in the field of planning.
- Establish a quality policy and objectives and follow up on their implementation at the university.
- Follow up on activities that work to achieve the satisfaction of beneficiaries, including students, faculty members, employees, the community, and relevant institutions, with the services provided by the university.
- Developing and updating the university’s quality management system in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001 and following up on its implementation.
- Conducting periodic internal audits of the quality management system.
- Providing technical support to university bodies regarding the university’s quality management system and the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001.
