Technological progress and the increase in communication and media technology have reached a great degree of development, which has contributed to accelerating the pace of globalization. This development has had a clear impact on higher education, especially in developing countries, which are in dire need of diversifying educational institutions and adapting their programs to keep pace with the diversity of student needs and the requirements of the national market.
Our era is the era of science and scientific revolutions. The secret of excellence and the key to success lies in science and innovation, enhancing competitiveness, arming ourselves with a culture of creativity and development, collective performance, and providing the opportunity for learning for university employees in order to develop information and use advanced technology. Higher education faces major and difficult dilemmas due to the rapid technological changes and innovations that have affected the teaching and learning process at various educational levels, especially higher education, which has become facing the inevitability of engaging in the “virtual” digital world.
That is why “excellence“ has become the cornerstone of all universities, and the pursuit of quality has acquired an urgent character recently.
Therefore, Sabha University has embarked with rapid steps and great determination to move towards establishing the concept of quality among its members and spreading the culture of quality despite the difficulty of the task and the great challenges, as the university, represented by its various departments, is determined to overcome all obstacles that stand in the way of making it a model to be emulated among Libyan universities. Sebha University, represented by its Council and the Office of Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation, and the efforts of all its members in the administrative and academic bodies, seeks to follow this path, the path of quality assurance that ends with obtaining local and international academic accreditation and international administrative accreditation.
In order to implement this, the University’s Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Office has developed its annual plan, so that during this academic year (2019/2020) the university will continue its efforts towards consolidating the concept of quality and working to implement the requirements for local and international academic accreditation as well as administrative accreditation.
