Sebha University hosted a meeting with Dr. Abdullah Batali, the Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, and the accompanying delegation during their visit to southern Libya. Dr. Batali met with elders, dignitaries, representatives of unions, and civil society organizations in the region, listening to their views and proposals regarding the Libyan issue, specifically focusing on the political process, elections, security situation, illegal migration, border security, youth and women’s participation in state-building.
Dr. Batali expressed his utmost joy in being present for the second time in southern Libya, meeting with the elite of the region on various levels, listening to their opinions and aspirations regarding Libyan matters. In turn, the President of Sebha University welcomed Dr. Batali and his accompanying delegation, emphasizing the university’s keenness to support such meetings and push for them to achieve their intended goals, hoping that their outcomes would contribute to the nation’s development and prosperity. He wished success to Dr. Batali’s efforts in reaching the electoral process swiftly and overcoming the obstacles and challenges ahead, calling for the collaboration of all Libyans and community components to propel the electoral process forward.
