Study of the level of nutritional awareness of the Libyan consumer towards food safety in Wadi Ashati area in southern libya
Abstract
This study was conducted to identify and measure the extent of the Libyan consumer awareness of food safety in Wadi AShati south of Libya and to determine the difference in the level of food awareness according to the variables and factors affecting it. The results of this study were collected from the data obtained from the questionnaire and included general data and food safety awareness. A total of 144 consumers from Wadi Al Shati regions in the south of Libya participated in the study. The results showed that the general nutritional awareness of the studied sample is high (76.90%). For the variables studied, it was found that males are more nutritionally aware than females, and that the older the person is, the more he or she is aware that the married are more aware of the food than the unmarried, and that the more the scientific qualification, the more the nutritional awareness of the individual, and the higher the monthly income, the higher the nutritional awareness of the individual. Respondents obtained their food safety information from the media, followed by the Internet.
