تعتبر يصدر الهاتف المحمول طاقة كهرومغناطيسية بترددات الراديو و يتم قياس مقدار هذه الطاقة التي يمتصها رأس الانسان بمعدل الامتصاص النوعي (SAR) حيث يجب أن تكون ضمن الحدود المسموح بها دوليا و الذي يبلغ 1.6w/kg بمتوسط 1جرام من الأنسجة , و 2w/kg بمتوسط 10جرام من الأنسجة . تقترح هذه الدراسة التقليل من معدل الامتصاص النوعي (SAR) باستخدام درع من مادة ( سيراميك الفريت المحذر بالأنابيب النانوية الكربونية ((CNT)- ) بسمك (0.2cm) , بسبب خصائصها الكهربية و المغناطيسية فهي ذات موصليه و كثافه منخفضتين . تمت محاكاة توزيع (SAR) في نموذج ثلاثي الأبعاد لرأس الانسان يتعرض للمجال المشع من الهاتف المحمول الذي يتكون من هوائي الرقعة (Microstrip Patch) عند تردد (1.8GHz) , واستخدام معادلات ماكسويل بشروط حدية مناسبة لإيجاد توزيعات (SAR) في الدماغ , تم حساب الحد الأقصى لمعدل الامتصاص النوعي (SAR) في الدماغ بقيمة (2.47w/kg) بدون استخدام الدرع , و بقيمة (1.22w/kg) عند استخدام مادة الدرع , تم مقارنة نتائج هذا الدرع مع بعض الدروع الأخرى و تبين أن درع (CNT) هو الأفضل الذي خفض من (SAR) في الدماغ.
