The Effects of the Corona Pandemic on Arab-Arab Relations within the Framework of the Arab League
Abstract
As the world is in unprecedented difficult circumstances, Arab countries are required to adhere to the values of solidarity and fraternity and to arm themselves with mechanisms of mutual cooperation and at least to exchange experiences. However, what happened was the opposite. A serious indication emerged of the current state of already fragile Arab-Arab relations, and the Corona crisis came to undermine this relationship and put it into question its future, with the publicized cold ness in the relations of most Arab capitals with each other, as well as the notable absence of any contacts or attempts to rescue the poor Arab, who are suffering from a shortage of funds and medical supplies as well as food and logistics after the closure of airports, land borders and ports. Arab countries are promoting the concept of national interest in accordance with the real school, as many countries in the world have done. Arab or international news agencies have not announced contacts between leaders or calls to meet at urgent summits (certainly through televised communication techniques) to make urgent decisions to contain the epidemic and reduce its losses and costs, which are eroding the health infrastructure of Arab societies, which are already poor and dilapidated. Most Arab capitals have taken a suspicious silence, and this silence raises big questions about whether those capitals are waiting for something bigger and more dangerous than the Corona pandemic to advance and lend a helping hand to sister capitals exhausted by the Corona virus. The corona virus crisis, with its disappointing repercussions for the Arab performance as a whole, has demonstrated that the situation requires radical change before it is too late, and if the threat of the Arab Corona is not unified, when? The Arab League, for its part, is seeking to enshrine its show, despite its ineffectiveness.
