Toxicity of Nerium Oleander extracts on Culex pipiens Mosquitoe
Abstract
This study was carried out to evaluate the bio efficacies of Etanol and petroleum ether extracts from Nerium oleander ( Leaves ) against 4th instar larvae of Culex pipiens mosquitoes by using six concentrations 0.3 , 0.7, 1.5 , 3.0 , 6.0 and 12.0 ppm .The toxicity increased with increasing the period of exposure .On the other hand , Petroleum ether extract elicited the highest effect on larvae than ethanol extract . The results revealed that the difference of temperatures between 27 ± 2 and 32 ± 2 C° elicited on larvae sensitivity especially with decreased values of Mortality at all treatments.
