Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences

The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences at the College of Engineering and Technical Sciences - Sebha University - is the first department specializing in this field to be established in Libya, and one of the oldest scientific departments in this specialization in the Arab world, where it was established in the year 1976, with the establishment of the Higher Institute of Technology previously, The Department of Medical Laboratories became one of the academic departments of the University of Sebha, with the merging of the Higher Institute of Technology in the College of Engineering in 1990 The medical laboratories section includes now about 255 students, and since its establishment until this semester, more than 1,200 students graduated from the department working in various medical analysis laboratories in hospitals and health centers in various regions of Libya, in addition to the presence of a large number of graduates from this department who continued their higher studies , And they have become professors and researchers at many universities and research centers in Libya.

The medical laboratories department should be a beacon for science and knowledge and a center for scientific and technical development and to become a leader in preparing technical cadres in the field of medical laboratories and scientific research and contribute to the development of human capabilities to serve the community.
