Authors retain copyright, and all JOMS articles are published open access under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) licence, so there is no embargo period for any version.

Third parties who redistribute a JOMS article must follow the terms of the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence, including the NonCommercial condition.

3. Preprints

Posting a preprint before or during submission does not affect consideration by JOMS and is not treated as prior publication. Authors must tell the journal about the preprint in their cover letter. See the Plagiarism and Similarity Policy.

Every deposited copy should include the full citation and the DOI link, for example: "This article was published in the Journal of Medical Sciences (Sebha), available at https://doi.org/10.51984/…, under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence."
