In this research, we addressed a topic relevant to the events of modern Libyan history, specifically the details of the Libyan Jihad movement concerning the leadership and battle participation of several prominent figures. Anyone following the events of the Libyan Jihad against the Italian invasion can clearly observe the major role played by certain commanders in managing these battles—through the orders and strategic plans they issued to the Mujahideen, which frequently inflicted heavy losses on the Italians. The era of the Libyan Jihad abounds with leaders and figures across most regions of the country who played pivotal roles in various battles. Some received recognition and documentation of their roles through dedicated books, while others' names remained confined to the oral accounts of their fellow Mujahideen. The subject of our biography, the Mujahid Abdussalam Al-Arbad, is one of those fighters who did not receive proper recognition despite his extensive contributions to the Jihad across most western regions of Libya. Therefore, this research is dedicated to unveiling this personality, introducing him, and highlighting his leadership and military role both within and outside the Msallata region. This is achieved by relying on several sources, particularly his own account and the testimonies of his comrades regarding his decisiveness and his role in the Jihad movement.
