Archiving and Digital Preservation

The Journal of Medical Sciences (JOMS) is committed to the long-term preservation of, and permanent access to, everything it publishes.

1. PKP Preservation Network

All published content is preserved in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), which uses LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) technology to store copies of the journal on servers at several libraries around the world. If the journal ceases publication or its website becomes unavailable, the preserved content will be made openly available through the network.

2. Persistent identifiers

Every article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registered with Crossref. The DOI provides a permanent link to the article that remains valid even if the website address changes.

3. Institutional backup

The journal website and all its files are hosted on the servers of Sebha University and are backed up regularly.

4. Author self-archiving

Authors are encouraged to deposit their published articles in institutional or subject repositories, which provides additional copies. See the Self-Archiving Policy.
