We are pleased to announce the release of the updated version of the Arab Impact Factor report for October 2024. The Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences (JOPAS) has shown a slight improvement in its impact factor compared to last year, rising from 0.79 to 0.81.

Although this improvement is modest, it represents a positive step toward enhancing the journal's standing in academic circles. The impact factor is a metric based on a methodology that calculates the number of articles published in the journal in relation to the number of citations those articles receive during the year.

The JOPAS was established in 1994, with its first electronic issues launched in 2017. In the first two years of electronic publication, the journal's impact factor was 1.8, but it has gradually declined in recent years. This decline can be attributed to several factors, most notably that some published research articles did not receive the required citations, in addition to their limited visibility in major academic databases such as "Scopus" and "Web of Science."

In this regard, the JOPAS is committed to improving the quality of future research articles, aiming to enhance the academic impact of the Journal of Sebha University and increase its scientific reach.
