The dispute over the general definition of electric power (Part One: Topic Overview).
Abstract
The subject of the general definition of electrical power is one of the topics that raise widespread controversy. The goal of this review paper is presenting a brief historical survey by highlighting what the authors see as the most critical points in the history of this ongoing debate. Some notes of own authorship are made as well, which we consider as additional research value to the overview one.Defining electrical power in general has become a very important topic, especially after the widespread utilization of electronic power devices in the field of production, transmission and consumption of electrical energy. In this paper, In particular the focus will be made on the physical nature of the concept of reactive power.
