Best Design and Improve the Functionality of the buildings (Southern Region - Libya)
Abstract
Due to the change in the effect of the cyclical climate during the seasons, the design of the building requires extensive knowledge of the methods of protection from external climatic fluctuations, especially in areas with a hot and dry climate, which necessitates the adoption of thermal design processes employed during the stages of the design process to improve the thermal design performance level and raise it. The future will be a building that is efficient in terms of its thermal performance and achieves the thermal comfort of its occupants. The problem of research emerged in the lack of knowledge in the standards of thermal comfort in buildings and the impact of climate factors in the form of architectural design of buildings and the failure of most of the designers of this type of buildings. The aims of this paper to introducing a method to classify thermal design treatments used in hot dry climates. In this paper, a number of conclusions have been reached, including knowledge of the appropriate orientation of the building block, the place and orientation of .the openings, the shape of the building, its mass and the appropriate insulation materials in the dry hot climate.
