Raising the Voice of Libyan Health Research on the Global Stage
It is with deep gratitude and renewed commitment that I step into the role of Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of medical sciences. As we embark on this new chapter, I believe it is time for us to be bold — to reposition this journal not only as a platform for academic publication, but as a meaningful and strategic voice for health research emerging from Libya and the surrounding region.
Our journal was founded with a mission to support evidence-based research and to provide a home for the work of Libyan and regional scientists. In recent years, however, it has become increasingly clear that for our work to have the impact it deserves, it must be visible, discoverable, and recognized internationally. That is why one of my core goals is to lead Journal of medical sciences toward indexing in Scopus, listing in international bibliographic databases, and eventual inclusion in SCImago Journal Rankings (SJR) and similar platforms.
