About the Department

Since the department was established, the department has graduated hundreds of graduates who today occupy advanced positions in universities, oil companies and various research centers, including the General Authority for Water and Soil, the National Oil Corporation and the Libyan Oil Institute.
Section equipments:
The department contains all the requirements for successful academic and research activities, as follows:
Rock samples preparation workshop such as rock crushing machine, rock cutting machine, and sanding machine.
Petrographic laboratory with reflective, polarized microscopes and a huge collection of thin-film samples of rocks and minerals.
Huge collection of geological maps and hand samples of minerals, rocks and fossils.
Geochemistry Laboratory and Geophysics Laboratory.
Equipment for geographic information systems, surveying equipment and stroke.
A library for the department that contains important references and periodicals.
