Anticipating Disaster: Lessons from Derna's Flooding
In solidarity with what happened in the flooding-stricken city of Derna, it is both our privilege and responsibility to shed light on a topic that was presciently warned about by one of our esteemed authors in our journal two years ago. This unfortunate event serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of research, foresight, and proactive measures in addressing the challenges that our world faces today.
We aim to revisit the insights shared by our perceptive author and delve into the implications of their warning. The catastrophic floods that recently inundated Derna have left a trail of devastation and despair, impacting the lives and livelihoods of its residents. It is during such trying times that the significance of research and knowledge sharing becomes ever more apparent.
