About the Department

The Department of Statistics was established in the academic year (1983/1984) as a division of the Department of Mathematics and the department was separated to become independent from the Department of Mathematics in the academic year (1987/1988). The Department of Statistics strives seriously to become the leading department among the departments through its unique, effective and continuous educational opportunities in the long term in the stage of university studies in order to achieve the knowledge, skill, correct guidance and values ​​necessary for success in the world of modern technologies, management, analysis and decision-making. The department also includes a selection of 12 national faculty members.

3 members with the rank of assistant lecturer, two members with the rank of lecturer, one member with the rank of assistant professor, and 6 members delegated to study abroad to obtain the exact degree (PhD). The department has 10 teaching assistants, 5 of whom are delegated to study abroad to obtain a high degree (MA). The department also has two data analysis laboratories under the supervision of two technicians in each laboratory and a secretary in the department. About the Department

The increasing importance of statistics and the multiplicity of its applications in all areas of scientific and practical life (such as population, social, agricultural, industrial, commercial, engineering, medical, etc.) studies have increased the demand for researchers in the field of statistics and probabilities, and then College of Science created an independent department of statistics in order to He carries his burden with the other departments of the college. Since the establishment of the department, College of Science and University Administration, it has given special attention to its development and support in human and laboratory capabilities.
