Vision, Mission and Objectives Department of Earth Sciences College of Science Sebha University

Vision

The department aspires to be one of the distinguished academic and research centers in the fields of earth sciences, and aspires to contribute effectively to achieving sustainable development in Libya.

Mssion

Contribute to preparing distinguished and highly qualified cadres of scientific and practical knowledge that enables them to participate in the development and service of Libya and society in their field of specialization.

Objectives:

يسعى قسم علوم الأرض Sebha University College of Science لتحقيق الأهداف التالية:

1. تخريج كوادر فنية للعمل في كافة مجالات علوم الأرض تلبية لاحتياجات سوق العمل العملية والعلمية.
2. Conducting studies and research that contribute to making use of national natural resources such as oil, natural gas and mineral ores, as well as dealing with chronic environmental problems, water scarcity and desertification.
3.  Carrying out the geological and geophysical survey of the geological formations, economic raw materials and hydrological potentials through field work, remote sensing and subsurface studies.
4. Supervising the implementation of engineering projects such as roads, bridges, dams, tunnels and deep water wells from a geological point of view.
5. Providing geological technical consultations to the official authorities and the private sector in the field of geosciences. In the fields of earth sciences.
