Abstract

This study aims to identify the obstacles of scientific research to the faculty members at Sebha University and to know if there are statistically significant differences in their appreciation of the scientific research obstacles due to the variables of job title, years of experience, and the faculty of the faculty member.


This study used the descriptive approach in relation to the theoretical aspect related to previous studies, and the analytical approach represented in the analysis of secondary data obtained from the Office of Quality and Performance Evaluation at Sebha University after the approval of the university president and includes a sample of 458 faculty members distributed over 18 colleges and centers, The results showed indicate that the faculty members’ appreciation of the obstacles they encounter in their conducting scientific research is high, and that there are statistically significant differences attributable to the variable of job title, and years of experience as well as the Faculty affiliated with it; based on the results of this study a set of recommendations, and proposals was presented in the aim to remove or mitigate these obstacles, and raise the level of scientific research at the university.
