Makala haya yanaangazia usemezano katika riwaya ya Vuta N’kuvute iliyoandikwa na Shafi Adam Shafi ikiwa ndilo lengo la makala haya. Nadharia ya usemezano ndiyo ambayo imetumika katika kukusanya na kuchambua data za utafiti huu kwa kuzingatia vipengele husika vilivyotajwa na Bakhtin (1981). Data za makala haya zimekusanywa kwa kutumia mbinu ya usomaji makini na kuchambuliwa kwa kutumia mbinu ya kimaelezo. Matokeo ya makala haya ni kwamba, Shafi Adam Shafi katika riwaya yake ya Vuta N’kuvute ametumia vipengele vya usemezano kama mbinu ya kujenga na kuwasilisha ujumbe kwa hadhira yake. Miongoni mwa vipengele hivyo ni uzungumzi nafsi, majibizano, dhana ya shani, na sajili za lugha. Vipengele hivi vimechangia pakubwa katika kuonesha muktadha wa kijamii, kisiasa na kiutamaduni wa kipindi husika. Kwa kutumia usemezano, mwandishi ameweza kuibua migongano ya kitabaka na mawasiliano kati ya wahusika tofauti. Aidha, lugha iliyotumiwa huakisi hali halisi ya jamii ya wakati huo.
