Sebha University Student Successfully Defends Master’s Thesis on Ibrahim Al-Koni Novel

Sebha University’s Faculty of Arts – Department of Arabic Language – hosted a public defence of a Master’s thesis on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, at the “Bayt Shamsi” Hall next to the Language Centre.

Student Atika Omar Fadhel Al-Sharif presented her thesis, titled “The Structure of Narrative Time in Ibrahim Al-Koni’s Novel The Well.” The study explored how time is used in the novel to shape the story and convey the philosophical and mythical vision of the desert.

The examination committee, led by Prof. Hassan Mohamed Hassan Al-Khubairi, praised the thesis for its scholarly quality and recommended awarding the student her Master’s degree.
