Second Scientific Conference on Water Resources and Water Security in Libya
Water is fundamental to development, making the understanding, conservation, and efficient use of water resources critical, particularly in the context of scarcity, depletion, and climate change. Groundwater is Libya’s primary water source, but many reservoirs have been severely depleted due to limited recharge and increasing demand.
In light of these challenges, the Second Scientific Conference on Water Resources and Water Security in Libya has been organized to renew knowledge on water resources management and conservation. The first edition, held at the University of Tripoli from May 15 to 17, 2023, was highly impactful, and the second edition will take place at Sebha University from December 9 to 11, 2024. This conference aims to engage local, regional, and international researchers and institutions to address the issue with credibility, transparency, and impartiality.
