Vice Presidency of Academic Affairs in any university is considered as the main nerve of its development. It is one of the important university pillars that helps to achieve the university’s vision, mission, and goals in line with the requirements and academic accreditation standards for the scientific departments at the university.

The University Academic Affairs at Sebha University is committed to achieving full accreditation, fostering a professional institutional environment that cultivates a culture of collaboration and teamwork. Our dedicated efforts are geared towards promoting creativity, fostering development, driving innovation, and encouraging initiatives at all levels of our institution. Our overarching goal is to facilitate the attainment of accreditation for every department within the university, enabling them to compete effectively, both locally and internationally.

Through its, administrations, faculties, scientific and executive departments, it seeks to update study plans, teaching techniques, accreditation, and performance quality through developmental efforts that enhance education in Libya. In general, the university academic affairs Vice presidency focuses its efforts on achieving the university’s high-level goals through the approved university strategy and the objectives aimed primarily at meeting the needs and requirements of society in accordance with the instructions and decisions of the university president, council, and vice deans in an earnest effort to develop the university. May Allah guide everyone to what He loves and approves.

The Tasks of the University Vice President of Academic Affairs:

The vice president of academic affairs at Sebha University is a faculty member responsible for supervising the educational process and implementing policies and objectives in accordance with the university’s general strategy. 

He assists the university president in implementing decisions of the university council with an academic nature and supervises offices assigned to him by the university president. 

In accordance with the powers and mandates outlined in the organizational structure of Libyan universities, as set forth in resolution No.22 of 2008, the responsibilities of the Vice President of Academic Affairs are as follows:

  • Monitoring scientific and educational affairs in the university’s faculties.
  • Monitoring quality control to improve the university’s classification level.
  • Monitoring field studies prepared on academic performance obstacles within the university and providing appropriate solutions.
  • Monitoring academic programs, scientific and study plans, and developing them.
  • Following up on the university’s publications, books, and references needed by the faculties to facilitate the educational process.
  • Monitoring the university journals.
  • Following up on administrative and financial affairs of faculty members.
  • Contracting with new faculty members.
  • Following up on collaborators whose services are needed by the faculties.
  • Organizing scientific conferences periodically with a focus on internal and external training.
  • Monitoring graduate study programs.
  • Following up on the number of students that can be accepted in the faculties according to the capabilities and needs of society.
  • Monitoring the university’s websites.
  • Performing any tasks assigned by the university president.
